What is TUDOOR?

TUDOOR is a universal and platform-independent Java interface to IBM RationalŪ DOORSŪ. It allows an easy integration into your own Java applications and requires no specific knowledge of the DOORS eXtension Language (DXL).

What does TUDOOR do?

TUDOOR allows to read and write DOORS elements with Java methods. The following DOORS elements are supported by TUDOOR:

  • Primitive types
  • Base types
  • Data model (including modules)
  • Views

Key features

  • No specfic DXL knowledge required
  • Platform/application-independent access to DOORS via Java API
  • Complete encapsulation of DXL through the use of Java classes
  • TCP/IP communication
  • JMI-conformant interface
  • Security concept: certified DXL whitelist

Why should you use TUDOOR?

Accessing DOORS from your Java application with TUDOOR is very easy and presumes only Java programming skills. Many companies do not want to develop applications with DXL in order to access the DOORS database, since the DOORS API, the DXL script language, requires specific programming skills often not available in many companies.

Who uses TUDOOR?

TUDOOR is used by companies from the automotive sector, avionic industry, military sector, and global technology suppliers who want to reduce software development time and do not want to develop a DOORS interface on their own.

They use TUDOOR e.g. to access the DOORS database from external test tools, manage DOORS modules, track the test process, generate documents from the requirements specification, etc.

Evaluation request

TUDOOR 1.8.0a has been released in June 2010.

We would be happy to issue you with a (fully-functional) license enabling you to test the adapter. You will then be able to test the MES DOORS adapter for a full 3 month.
